Destinations

Where will Africa take you?

Africa is not one place, and no single journey can hold all of it. That is why we focus on six destinations we know deeply and love without reservation. Each has its own character, its own rhythm and its own kind of wonder, and together they form a collection that can be woven into almost any dream.

In the east, Uganda and Rwanda are the home of the mountain gorilla, where emerald forest, volcano views and unhurried, heartfelt encounters make a journey that stays with you for life. Kenya and Tanzania sit beside them, holding the classic safari landscapes of the Maasai Mara and the Serengeti, the seasonal drama of the Great Migration, and the sweep of Kilimanjaro on the horizon. Further south, Victoria Falls delivers one of the most breathtaking sights on the planet, and South Africa finishes the picture with coastline, wine country and some of the most comfortable and reliable game viewing in the world.

How the destinations come together

Many of our guests combine two or three destinations in a single holiday. A gorilla journey in Uganda or Rwanda pairs beautifully with a classic savannah safari in Kenya or Tanzania, giving you both forest and plains. A migration safari across Kenya and Tanzania slides naturally into a few days of island barefoot luxury on Zanzibar. Victoria Falls is an effortless addition to a southern African safari, and a few days in Cape Town and the Winelands make a graceful ending to almost any itinerary.

If you are not sure where to begin, tell us how many days you have, the season you plan to travel and the moments you are hoping for. We will suggest a combination that makes sense, with sensible flight connections and a rhythm that leaves you rested rather than rushed.

Planning from Australia

Australian travellers enjoy a particular advantage. Our summer is Africa's dry, bright winter in many regions, and our school holidays often line up with the great wildlife seasons. The journey is long, but with the right connections and a restful night at a good hotel on arrival, it is far easier than most people expect. Each destination page includes guidance on when to go, how to get there and what to expect.

Your Africa is waiting.

Tell us what you are dreaming of, even if it is only half formed. We will listen, share some ideas and sketch the journey with you, with no obligation and no pressure. Most Australian travellers plan twelve to eighteen months ahead for the best lodges and the most sought after experiences, so the sooner we begin, the more choice you will have.
